The La Jolla Elementary School’s innovative robotics program is open to students in grades 3-5. The program will introduce STEM minded students to the world of robotics. Using the NXT Lego Mindstorm and EV3 robots, students will enjoy assembling their robots by following a detailed schema, programming their robots, and designing attachments to have their robots do exactly what the assignment asks. Additionally, students will use a variety of 21st century math skills to adjust the movement and maneuverability of their design. La Jolla Elementary teachers will work with students on carefully chosen topics and activities that will be taught with hands on exploration, STEM learning and an inquiry-based, team building approach.
