The La Jolla Open Aire Market was started 20 years ago by former LJES parents. It has become a weekly event that brings the school and the community together. We have cultivated the finest local farmers, artisans, and food vendors and we are one of the largest farmers’ markets in San Diego.
Never been to the market? The market carries local organic and conventional produce, eggs, breads, cheese, grass-fed beef, seafood, almonds, jams, smoothies, olive oils, guacamole, hummus, baked goods including a variety of gluten-free options, chocolate, kettle corn, coffee, and more. Our international food court features cuisine from the Mediterranean, France, Germany, Latin America, Mexico, Italy, Japan, Korea, China, and the USA. Vegetarian and vegan options are also available in our gourmet food court. We have over 60 local artisans for unique items and handcrafted goods and an abundance of locally grown flowers.
The best part about it? Our market earnings help pay for teachers, technology, art, music, and other enrichment programs not funded by the district. The more sales we have, the greater the benefit to our children. So grab your friends, and family, and shop every Sunday from 9am to 1:00pm, rain or shine, on the upper playground. It’s an easy and fun way to contribute to our school every week.
